But, read to the end.

  1. WSL S5 is simultaneously a handicapped and non-handicapped league. There will be two league winners; one from each division. All skill levels welcome.

  4. You do not have to play on Wednesdays. You will need an OX Membership or an OX League Membership in order to play on Wednesday.

Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27,

Nov. 3, 10, 17

Dec. 1, 8… depending on enrollment

- We are looking for 16 players. If we get 20 players, then the league

will last 11 weeks. Either is great for us.

- Your matches will be scheduled- not all will start at 10:00 am. We do our

best to schedule matches with the least amount of waiting time between

matches. Most will be back-to back.

Time:

- Sundays at 10:00 am. Doors open at 9:30 am.

- Free street parking on Sundays.

- Players will play two (best of 3) matches. Some weeks they will only play one

depending on enrollment and scheduling.

- Wednesdays: If a player cannot attend on Sunday, they can both agree to play

their match on Wednesday if one of the below is true:

• One of the players is an OX Member - the other a plus one.

• Both Players are OX Members.

• Both are OX League Members.

Again, the only way to play on Wednesday is if one of the above are true.

Format:

WSL S5 will be handicapped and non-handicapped

- All players will compete in the same league, but we will score the

handicapped and non-handicapped scores in the same match.

• Players must submit frame scores to the WSL website.

- We will have two league winners: a Handicapped, and a Non-Handicapped.

- Trophies and prizes go to the top finishers in each division - Prizes depend on

enrollment.

- Prizes:

• One year OX Membership.

Gode Stick.

• Paid entry into the SSO - Handicapped Winner.

• Paid and Seeded entry into the SSO - Non-Handicapped Winner.

• Special booby prize for the last place finisher.

Handicaps:

Handicaps are set before the season starts, based on known history of players.

- Unknown players will be asked to set their handicap with Mike.

- Current handicaps can be found beside each player name on the

League Standings page.

- Calculating a handicap for a match:

• The higher handicap player will receive starting score points from the

lower handicap player.

• The number of points assigned to the higher handicapped player will be

calculated from the difference between the two handicaps.

- For example, if Player A has a handicap of 5, and Player B has a

handicap of 20, then Player B will start each frame with 15 points

on the scoreboard (20-5 = 15).

To maintain fairness, handicaps may be reviewed and updated through the

season, if a player performance significantly exceeds or is below than calculated

handicap.

Make-Ups:

- Make-Up Matches are allowed. You must provide advance notice to your

opponent so they do not travel to the club for no reason.

- Life happens and make-ups are sometimes needed, but remind yourself

of the rules below:

• If a match cannot be played or made-up due to scheduling conflicts,

then the player who was able to make the Sunday time does not

forfeit.

- The forfeit then goes to their opponent.

• If you are a no-show-no-call and your opponent shows, then you forfeit

your match.

• As soon as you know, let your opponent know you can’t make it.

• Also let Dave Daly know so he can open up that time slot.

• Reschedule with your opponent asap. Use the secondary day.

• Be On Time:

- 15+ mins late = Forfeit the first frame.

- 30+ mins late = Forfeit of the match.

Mini League:

Be on the look out for mini leagues coming soon. They will be short seasons

aimed at the casual player. These short 4 weeks sessions are a type of beer

league, but also a learning league with low commitment and mostly to have fun.
